Ernest Bloom, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist, practicing in the East Bay area, and, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
He attended University of California in Davis, Medical School, and, completed his internship at University of California, Irvine/Long Beach. He completed his residency training in dermatology at the University of Montreal.
Dr. Bloom treats both adults and children, and concentrates on providing the best, balanced treatment for a variety of frequently occurring medical, surgical and cosmetic skin conditions, including acne, eczema (atopic dermatitis), itching (pruritus), pigmentation (melasma), wrinkles, skin rejuvenation procedures, rosacea (facial redness), warts, moles, dark skin lesions, skin tags, hair disorders, pediatric dermatology, sweating disorders (hyperhidrosis), contact dermatitis, psoriasis, hives (urticarial), allergies, sun sensitivity, vitiligo, fungal infections, athletes foot, jock itch, hand dermatitis, scarring, and, skin cancer.
He combines modern, scientific and pharmaceutical treatments including laser therapy, chemical peels, Botox, and fillers with holistic treatments – when, and as, appropriate. With this balanced approach, the patient receives maximal relief from his/her skin challenges, and, may experience overall improvement of skin health, as well as, general health.
Dr. Bloom has a long interest in scientific medical research and has published more than thirty scientific papers. One of his special research interests is therapy for hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) using aluminum-free, topical treatments. This is of special interest in patients with toxin/environmental sensitivities/challenges.

A waste of time. The doctor claimed that sunscreen doesn't work and causes cancer rather than preventing it. He also stated that over the counter vitamin A supplements work as well as accutane.

I didn’t want to believe the negative reviews because I was eager to get an appointment. That being said, this was up there if not the most poor experience I’ve had with a doctor.
Asked zero questions, didn’t ask if I had any questions, and quite frankly didn’t even feel like I had the space to ask said questions. Took one look at me and handed me a paper to read without asking a single question.
I wouldn’t say he was rude, but certainly not wanting to chat beyond what was absolutely necessary.
The walls here are PAPER thin. I got seen about 30 minutes after my scheduled time (which was fine, I always expect there may be delays) but I heard someone’s entire bathroom experience with the door closed in my room.
If you NEED somewhere to go, this is fine, but certainly not somewhere I would recommend or return to.

Dr Bloom is very knowledgeable and very willing to listen to my history and work with me on what works and what doesn’t instead of typical dogmatism. I also love how he thinks outside the box. My appointment with dr bloom couldn’t have been any longer than 5 minutes tops! I did not have a positive experience with this appointment. The doctor seemed rushed and at times, the tone made me feel as though my questions were silly or unimportant, which was discouraging. As a patient, I expect to be treated with respect and to have my concerns taken seriously, and unfortunately that was not the case here.

I did not like the office staff due to their unethical intentions to lie about me setting up an appointment from over the phone and in person. When I told them I had a 2:30 pm appointment. It was an asian Lady that was lying like she did not see that, until Dr. Broom confirmed today then all of a sudden she saw it.
