Getting to know Erwin Baird
As a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at NextGen Psyche and Wellness, I provide patient-centered psychiatric care. I focus on building trust and a strong therapeutic relationship with you. My approach combines medication management, education about your mental health, and practical coping strategies. I take into account all aspects of your life, including your relationships, sleep patterns, stressors, and biological and psychological factors, to create a personalized treatment plan for you.
I bring genuine curiosity to every session. I want to understand not just your symptoms, but what's happening in your life, your relationships, your sleep, and your stress. I look at the whole picture: biological, psychological, and social factors together. I explain the why behind what's happening in your brain, not just what to do about it, and I combine medication management with psychoeducation and practical, evidence-based strategies tailored specifically to you.
I enjoy working with people who are still exploring and understanding their experiences. You don't need to be perfect; it's completely okay to forget things, have trouble finding words, or prefer to stay quiet. I adapt to your individual needs and let you move at your own pace. I'm especially drawn to helping those who struggle to express themselves after intense experiences.
Areas of focus include ADHD, bipolar disorder, substance use, insomnia and sleep issues, and medication management for children, teens, and adults.

In our first session, you lead the way. I'm here to listen, and there's no pressure to share everything at once. We'll talk about your main goal for the next 30 days: what would help you feel like a better version of yourself? From there, we'll create a personalized plan based on what's most important to you right now.

Self-pay (cash) rates: Initial psychiatric evaluation (60 min) - $200. Follow-up visit (30 min) - $150. We are in-network with Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare; patients with other plans are welcome to book as self-pay. We also offer a copay assistance program for patients who qualify, with special consideration for veterans. Free services are available for survivors of domestic abuse, children in foster care, and individuals with autism. Please contact our office to ask about eligibility.

Very grateful for this visit. He was very knowledgeable and spent the time to explain why I was feeling the way I do. Other psychiatrists I’ve seen felt a bit rushed. This did not feel that way at all. I really feel that he dedicated time to understand my situation and develop a solid game plan for me. I have noticed he is much more chemically and scientifically minded than most doctors. I feel like he listens more as well as develops care plans that are highly specialized towards you.
