I enjoy the cerebral work of puzzling through medical problems and figuring out the root cause. But most of all, it is always a privilege to walk with my patients during their most vulnerable moments in life. I cherish the rapport that I build with my patients and their families.
I always believe that practicing medicine is a two-way street. My role as a provider first and foremost is empowering patients. I do this by educating patients on the medical problems and their potential solutions as well as the potential adverse effects or consequences of either choosing or refraining from certain treatments. Empowered patients who make informed decisions and be a part of the decision-making process in their physical and behavioral health tend to adhere to treatment plans and be active participants in promoting their overall health.
I like to read about all things magical, travel to off-the-beaten-path destinations, and spend time with my children; either taking them out for fun stuff or teaching them useful things like math or how to be good and decent little people.
