What should a new client know about working with you?

Patients often describe my style as warm, attentive, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being open, while also providing clear clinical guidance to help you move forward. I take a thoughtful and individualized approach to care. I’ll listen carefully to your concerns, ask meaningful questions, and work with you to understand the full picture—not just your symptoms, but what’s happening in your life overall. While I provide psychiatric medication management, I also incorporate supportive therapy and CBT-informed techniques into our visits. This means we focus not only on symptom relief, but also on building practical skills to manage anxiety, regulate mood, and navigate stress more effectively. If you’re dealing with bipolar disorder or complex mood symptoms, I place strong emphasis on careful diagnosis, medication optimization, and long-term stability. My goal is to help you feel more balanced, consistent, and in control over time. I value open communication and shared decision-making. I’ll always explain options clearly, answer your questions, and make sure your treatment plan feels realistic and aligned with your goals. Above all, you can expect care that is respectful, nonjudgmental, and grounded in evidence-based practice, with a focus on helping you feel better and function at your best.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. Initial Visit (Comprehensive Evaluation): Our first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We’ll take time to understand your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, and any prior treatments. This includes a detailed discussion of mood patterns, anxiety, sleep, stressors, and overall functioning. From there, we develop a clear and personalized treatment plan together. Diagnosis & Treatment Planning: I place strong emphasis on accurate diagnosis—especially when working with conditions like bipolar disorder and complex mood disorders—so that treatment is both effective and sustainable. Treatment may include psychiatric medication management, as well as recommendations for lifestyle adjustments and supportive therapy. Follow-Up Visits: Follow-up appointments focus on: Monitoring symptoms and progress Adjusting medications when needed Providing brief, supportive therapy and coping strategies Addressing any new or ongoing concerns Therapeutic Approach: While I provide medication management, I also incorporate elements of supportive therapy and CBT-informed techniques during visits. This allows us to work not only on symptom relief, but also on building practical skills to manage stress, anxiety, and mood changes. Integrated Care: Because I am also trained in primary care, I take a whole-person approach, considering how physical health, hormones, and life circumstances impact mental health—especially in areas like women’s mental health and perinatal care. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and actively involved in your care, with a plan that is both effective and realistic for your life.
