Dr. Thomson grew up in Brooklyn, New York and completed her undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude, in Biological Anthropology at the University of Michigan. During her time there she also completed her thesis in PTHRP expression in breast cancer and was awarded James B Angell Scholar. She was also inducted into the gamma sigma alpha honor society and was a member of the Golden key honor society. After graduation, Dr. Thomson attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to Mount Sinai Medical Center to complete her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program. She then continued on to complete a fellowship in interventional spine and sports medicine. During her time at Mount Sinai, she was the PMR national representative for the Organization of Resident Representative. She also was the chief editor of the publication, rehab in review. She was also published in Essential Sports Medicine in December 2008. She also spent time as a physician at the New York City Marathon at mile 21 , and participated in USA boxing as a ringside physician. Dr. Thomson is board certified by the American College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
