About Dr. Farhad Kadkhodaei Elyaderani
Board-certified neurologist Farhad Elyaderani, MD, offers specialized diagnosis and treatment for brain and nervous system disorders at his modern, well-equipped offices in Yonkers and New Rochelle, New York. Dr. Elyaderani sees adult patients over age 18 who are affected by neck and back pain, headaches, migraines, stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia. His neurology expertise enables him to diagnose symptoms ranging from dizziness, balance problems, and numbness to loss of function, visual disturbances, and seizures. He has extensive experience performing diagnostic procedures such as electromyography (EMG), routine EEG and video EEG, nerve blocks, and videonystagmography (VNG), as well as interpreting the results. Treatments Dr. Elyaderani uses include medications that slow down or cure neurological disorders, Botox therapy for migraine headaches and cosmetic Botox, and physical and occupational therapies. He is a speaker for AbbVie products across their migraine portfolio and actively participates in clinical trials for dementia and headache disorders. Dr. Elyaderani is also an advocate for dance and music as treatments for dementia.
In addition to being a board-certified neurologist, Dr. Elyaderani completed his Doctor of Medicine at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, followed by an internship at Griffin Hospital. He completed his neurology residency at the University of Florida, Ashe Linda S, and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center, combining electrophysiology and neuromuscular/peripheral nerve disease. He serves as an assistant clinical professor of neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with clinical locations in the Gun Hill Road neighborhood of the Bronx, Mt. Vernon, and New Rochelle, New York. Furthermore, he provides vascular services, including carotid Doppler and ultrasound, at his New Rochelle office.

In addition to the office being cold, the doctor was running late he was very apologetic for his tardiness that he had no control over. His staff did not give the awareness that he was running late. He was knowledgeable while kind and considerate.
I Will revisit him, he has a good demeanor and good follow up steps.

I have been seeing this doctor for several months and I cannot recommend him enough. He is incredibly attentive and takes the time to truly listen and understand what you are going through. Wait times are minimal, which is rare and so appreciated. He is very professional in every interaction and has been proactive in managing my care, including adjusting prescriptions as needed. The reception team is equally wonderful they are always accommodating and flexible with scheduling, making the whole experience seamless from start to finish.

Our experience with Dr. Elyaderani was truly awful. I am a resident MD and brought my mother to see Dr. Elyarderani for some issues she has been having with her memory. We ended up being seen by a nurse practitioner who read questions off of her computer without really getting to the crux of why we had scheduled the visit. Dr. Elyaderani came in after about 45 minutes of waiting, stormed in, did the most mediocre physical exam I have ever seen on my mother, proceeded to interrupt me and her when we were attempting to give him some of her history and explain to him why we were there for the visit. He made no attempt to listen or understand the issues she has been having, and sent her a referral for a brain MRI and told us to schedule a follow-up appointment with him. Absolutely terrible bedside manner and communication, and a clear inability to listen to his patient's concerns or issues. I would not recommend him to anyone for any issues at all. Clear to say we will never see him again.

I have been unable to reach Dr. Elyaserani since the appointment. I was sent to NYU Langone for a test with an unsigned script so test could not be done. He wants me to do further tests in New Rochelle an hour from my home. My doctors are all in Manhattan where I am all the time. His email address is nonfunctional.
My April 6, 2:30 next appointment does not show when I login to Zocdoc so I do not know if it is valid.

Do not visit this office. My reason for going is due to headaches with no underlying health conditions.
Waiting area wasn’t full. Those waiting could hear entire conversation when both receptionist are on the phone either calling or talking to patients. Wait time was quick.
Once in front of the doctor I was rushed and popped out came pills from under his desk - take these and we’ll do test. No instructions, no reasoning, just take these as I was pushed into an adjacent room that was filthy to do a nerve test. Equipment looked old, the technician was a much older gentleman who did less talking than the doctor. Got a needle that I wasn’t aware I was getting. Shocked from start to finish.
Worst part. Got a referral for a MRI. When I went to make the appointment, find out they won’t do it u til the doctor does his notes and the insurance authorization happens. Must be done by the doctor. Spent 5 wks calling the neurologist and his reception never calls me back. No MRI yet.

My first appointment here was excellent, I never looked forward to going to the doctor, but the office was beautiful, had nice art work, was clean. While the office was busy, the wait time was short, staff pleasant, doctors manner was just right. I feel the appropriate treatments were ordered. From an RN, I would recommend to anyone and everyone in need of a neurologist.

After examination the doctor prescribed me a somewhat experimental drug that would be mailed to my home. Later I found out that the drug was Metanx, a medical food, not covered by medical insurance, to be paid out of pocket. No brochure, or explicit explanation about Metanx, as to its unusual status with FDA, had been offered at the time of the visit. No alternative to Metanx was discussed. As far as I am concerned, the visit was a total waste of time and money.

There Zocdoc says they provide neuropsychological exam.
Something in me called to verify because I would be going all the way from Brooklyn. They never returned my phone call.
Actually, I was able to get a hold of someone and they told me that it would just be a regular GP doctors appointment and that they would refer to someone if that’s something that they do necessary. It even lists on google that that’s what his specialty is. If you don’t do the service, don’t list it on your page!
