Getting to know Dr. Farkhanda Khan
We are beginning to see patients in the office and will continue phone appointments as deemed necessary on a case-by-case basis. Patient and staff safety remains our top priority while ensuring that quality of care is maintained.
I graduated from Dow Medical College with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. I completed my residency in Adult Psychiatry at Saint Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, followed by fellowships at Beth Israel Medical Center in Geriatric Psychiatry and another fellowship.
I am a medical doctor specializing in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders. I enjoy working with and focus primarily on Anxiety and Mood Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, and ADHD. I find my work very interesting and extremely rewarding.
My mission is to provide traditional-style care with no pressure from insurance companies or HMOs to all my patients. Please note that I am NOT trained to treat substance abuse/dependence or dual diagnosis patients. Also, I am unable to assist if you are applying for disability and need ongoing help with disability paperwork.
I DO NOT participate in any insurance plans, including Medicare (I have opted out of Medicare).

Dr Khan is very knowledgeable and helped me a great deal, as the medications, although very effective, usually hit a plateau and you find yourself experiencing symptoms again. It's wonderful to find the right combination and Dr Khan is very competent.

Ive been going to Doctors, as I am sure we all have and she is the ONLY one over all these years that doesn’t just remember my Name and chart; but she remembers ME and details and asks for updates and I have never felt more comfort talking to someone like I was blessed to have experienced. I will never change Doctors, there is NO comparison after all the experiences I’ve had at other offices. She lets you speak and doesn’t interrupt you and somehow finds things in common and can make you feel comfort which i have not gotten anywhere else!

Dr. Khan has been my doctor for 3 years. It's along drive for me, since Ive moved to the West side, but it's worth it.
Dr. Farckhanda listens to my concerns, and works with me to find the right tools to improve my quality of life. Beyond trying different medicines, she recommends books & articles, CBT techniques, nutrition, meditation etc. and gives me general suggestions for improvements.
