Dr. Niagado is a DNP, MSN, PMHNP-BC, and a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience treating mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, sleep disorders, substance use disorder, and more.
She earned her associate's degree from Baltimore City Community College, her bachelor's degree with distinction (Summa Cum Laude), followed by a master's degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University. She has years of experience working with the State of Maryland as a psychiatric nurse.
Dr. Niagado has experience in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. She is a people person who enjoys helping others. She has worked with minority populations and underserved communities, including but not limited to LGBTQ, homeless, and substance use disorder populations. She is fluent in two foreign languages, French and Bambara. In her free time, she loves to spend time with family and travel.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My philosophy is to treat every patient as I would like to be treated. I am morally obligated to use my knowledge to serve and educate individuals in my community. As a healthcare professional, I can change how mentally ill individuals are viewed and treated. I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management. However, we have a therapist in the practice who provides talk therapy. I use Headway and Alma for Billing; all patients are required to complete consent forms and have a payment method on file before their appointment.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The office will contact you if any information is needed. all intake documents and consent forms must be completed before the appointment. All patients are re all the consent forms are in the patient portal please check your email to register for the patient portal. We are Unable to fill any type of leave, including FMLA and Short-Term disability, within the first 6 months of visits.
