She made sure I had all the paperwork and instructions for a video call prior to our appointment. The appointment itself was great! She’s understanding, thorough, and didn’t rush me at all- even after a few interruptions from my young son. I’ve already booked my next appointment!”

Florence Amaikwu, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience. She is licensed in Maryland and sees Maryland patients only. Dr. Amaikwu earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Coppin State University, her Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Purdue University. She has worked as a clinician in both outpatient and telehealth settings, caring for children, adults, and the geriatric population. Dr. Amaikwu is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. She understands how much effort it takes to seek help and is ready to assist not only with medication management but also by developing individualized care plans for anyone who comes her way. Dr. Amaikwu has extensive experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, grief and loss, PTSD, personality disorders, sleep disorders, substance use, and addiction.
