Dr. Aslinia graduated from Tehran University Faculty of Medicine with the highest distinction in 1997. She served in Iran’s underserved areas and moved to Paris to observe the practice of medicine at the Pitié-salpêtrière Hospital in 1999. After completing internal medicine residency in Baltimore, serving as hospitalist at the Kaiser Permanente in California, and GI fellowship at the University of Maryland to also obtain her a master’s degree in clinical investigation on NIH grant, she joined Johns Hopkins Hospital as faculty and GI hospitalist and refined her skills in the field of inflammatory bowel disease under the direction of Dr. Theodore Bayless, the founder of the Meyerhoff Digestive Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. After having a break from academia, she joined the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2017, founded the first multidisciplinary inflammatory bowel disease clinic in the state of Kansas, and served as a faculty, clinician, researcher. In 2023, she joined community practice again to contribute to the field of GI, hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease , colon cancer screening and research in a community setting.
