Getting to know Francesca Rome-Marie

Hello, I am an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner located in New York City, offering telemental health services (video visits only) to NYC and New York State. I earned my Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. I formerly worked as a family nurse practitioner in primary care, specializing in LGBTQ+ health and HIV medicine. I have lived, traveled, and studied both liberal arts and health-related fields all over the world. Additionally, I have experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault, as well as sex workers.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in a holistic approach to prescribing and medication's intelligent use to benefit my patients alongside non-pharmacological approaches (e.g., light therapy, exercise, meditation, and supplements). I listen to your concerns and needs, and we formulate a treatment plan together. We will evaluate your responses to medication closely. We will discuss your needs and feelings regarding our work together throughout our relationship. I respect you as someone different from me and have a keen interest in listening to the story you must tell. Clients find that they receive undivided attention, which is deeply restorative. I require a free fifteen-minute consultation call to discuss what you're looking for, and what I may be able to offer you, before you are able to schedule an entire intake appointment. During the call, we will book for a future date if we decide to move forward with working together. If you are a new patient, please book a 15-minute slot. Thanks so much.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After you book your initial intake appointment with me, you will be sent my intake form. This will include generic demographic data, questions about your health history, and perhaps most importantly, free space for you to begin to tell your story. There is no page limit to this intake, but please be aware if your writing is very extensive, we may need to book more than one “initial” session to go through it all thoroughly. I thoroughly read and process your submission before our session together, so I will need at least a few days between your submitting the intake form and our first meeting. Please use the time in between as an opportunity to contemplate and write out any of your current or anticipated concerns to help us form the foundation of our work together. I welcome and encourage questions and discussion. It is always my goal that you feel clear and confident moving forward with whatever plan we have formulated together. I don't believe a successful therapeutic relationship or psychiatric treatment can work any other way. My approach and technique is flexible depending on your needs.

    This is a cash-only private practice. The initial intake fee is $750 (70-90 minutes), and follow-up sessions are $475 (50 minutes). The initial intake is inclusive of my time spent reading your submissions prior to our meeting, and our longer session time to establish your history and present concerns. I accept payments by debit or credit card with Stripe. I can provide a superbill so that you can submit for out-of-network benefits if you have them.
