Every year since 2014 I have been seeing DR. Hyman. Great Bedside manner, great attention to detail. I never feel rushed and appointments are always seen quickly. Usually a three week wait to see her, but I guess that speaks to her service.
shes great! was busy this morning but usually a much shorter wait time.
Annual appointment covered all the basics and she checks in on concerns to be sure I’m supported.
The one positive thing I will say is that everyone else I interacted with was absolutely lovely (nurse and front desk staff). Outside of that, my experience was disappointing. I waited 25 minutes under a paper gown. The walls were so thin I could hear every bit of conversation in the room next to me while another patient was informed of a miscarriage. Felt like an extreme invasion of privacy and was extremely uncomfortable. Eventually a white noise machine was turned on, so clearly the office is aware this is an issue. Dr. Hyman was fine, but spent barely 7 minutes with me and asked very few questions. I was prescribed medication for one issue and then my lab results came back negative. I was never followed up with, nor notified that the results were in. I'm all for automating these processes with access to an app, but this shouldn't take the place of patient care. I'll be returning out of necessity since my symptoms are back, but would not recommend to others.
Dr Hyman is a great medical professional. She is knowledgeable and helpful while also listening to the needs of her patients. Overall, the team is also very friendly and easy to work with when at the office as well as making appointments.
I am beyond disappointed in my first visit with Dr. Hyman. After reading many of the reviews here on Zoc Doc, I was excited to finally have a doctor that would help me figure out some of my concerns. My experience was horrendous. She was condescending and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. She does not remove implants but did not recommend another doctor and simply said to look it up myself. I saw her for no more than ten minutes before she walked out of the room without a goodbye or mention of any follow-up appointments for when I get the implant taken out. I received zero advice and little information about what is happening to my body. I am extremely disappointed and upset. I have never had this happen to me and wish I did not waste my time and money this morning. My time is equally as valuable as Dr. Hyman’s and I wish our appointment reflected that. HOWEVER, the nurses and staff are very nice and literally always answer the phones.
I went to Dr. Hyman last summer for the first time after switching jobs (hence new insurance). She was so great, bedside manner amazing. I went back this year and felt a turn in the overall experience, and looking at recent reviews it seems as if everyone else is also experiencing the same thing. In terms of the shift from my 2016 visit to my 2017 visit I had issues with the following: -Work got busy in the fall so I postponed my visit to a few months later. Somehow, my birth control prescription kept getting filled, but it was to my benefit so I was not complaining. -When I tried to finally reschedule, Dr. Hyman was not available for 4-5 weeks. She told me in my recent visit that she had personal issues she was dealing with and took the month of Nov. off. -I finally got an appointment for mid Dec. and when I stopped by the office in early Dec to ask for 1 refill of my birth control or a sample, the receptionist talked to the medical assistant who said no, my last appointment was too far gone. I asked if I could speak to Dr. Hyman about the issue since it's not medically encouraged to just go on and off the pill, and I was told no, she's not available for 2 weeks. I accepted the answer and went on my way. -Once I got to my appointment, the receptionists and nurses were GREAT. Barely a wait time. Dr. Hyman was noticeably off from a year before (much less pleasant) but we did our business quickly, which I can appreciate. -However, my prescription was never re-filled as promised, and I had to call the office 2 days later and ask for an update. I was told by the receptionist to first call the pharmacy and make sure *they weren't holding the refill. I have automatic refill with text updates so I really didn't think that was the case, but agreed. After 2 hours when I finally got in touch with a pharmacist, they told me the dr's office indeed had not refilled my prescription. I called the office back and the receptionist was very apologetic and left a hand written note for the medical assistant who was not there. -Overall, I will probably go back since the office is conveniently located and Dr. Hyman is the only female in this practice in the Hoboken location. I just wish my experience this year was closer to the one I had in 2016.
I saw her for barely 10 minutes and she showed up in a bad mood and had one foot out the door the whole time. She tried talking me out of getting my yearly pap (she clearly wasn't in the mood to deal with anything / anyone) and she forgot to do my breast exam. I had 3 very normal questions regarding heavy cramps, cervical cancer and fertility - she brushed everything off like "don't worry about it" or "just go on the pill" or "take some pamphlets". Everything she said was very dismissive. Clearly there is something bothering her at home that she should not bring into the workplace. Or maybe she is tired and overworked. I would never treat my own clients the way she made me feel, like a nuisance- how unprofessional. I will not be back.
The 3 staff members I interacted with at Dr Hyman's office were all pleasant and professional. After undressing for the examination I waited 22 minutes for the doctor to come in to see me. I found her bedside manner to be lacking. She referenced two other patient's charts during our very brief encounter (she was in the room with me for a total of 9 minutes) and mistook someone else's history for mine. She didn't address a particular concern that I brought up with both her and her MA. I left feeling unheard and uncofident in the doctor's thoughtfulness or concern for her patients. Maybe she cares more for established patients, which is certainly understandable if there's a long history with them, however, I won't be back to find out. I genuinely felt sad after I left her office.
I waited an hour and a half in the thin paper gown for Dr Hyman to come in. I myself am a physician, and I would never ever think of making my patients wait this long. It’s outrageous. There is a reason why appointments are made, to stick to a schedule.
Dr. Hyman was very helpful and explained the science behind several things in a clear, simple manner. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend her to any woman looking for a gynecologist in the area.
Visit was efficient but a little rushed. The office is also a bit awkward in that there is a busy hallway outside the door and if the door is opened anyone walking by can see you in your 'gown'. I could also hear everything that was said in the exam room next to me (so I assume they could hear me as well). Lastly, I had sent over all of my paperwork through the site ahead of time, but none of it was at the office when I arrived. If I had to go back for anything other than a yearly exam, I would schedule with a different doctor.
I think most women would agree that going to our annual OB-GYN appointment doesn't rank on our "favorite things to do" list. Well, Dr. Hyman just might change our minds. Not only is Dr. Hyman incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, her bedside manner is outstanding. You can definitely tell she cares about her patients and has their best interest at heart. She's a great listener, always makes you feel comfortable and never makes you feel judged. In addition, her staff is pleasant and friendly.
Had a later appointment (5:30 PM) and there was no wait at all. Dr. Hyman is always pleasant and this appointment was no exception. The exam is always quick but thorough and she always makes time to chit chat and make you feel welcome and comfortable. Front desk staff was super friendly and the assistant in the room with me was also great. Highly recommend!
Dr. Hyman is very professional and makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. She asks questions and listens to any concerns. I always have quick and easy appointments with her, she's great!
Dr. Hyman is very easy to talk to and really listens if you have any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend her if looking for a new OB/GYN.
Dr Human is very pleasant and attentive, she addressed my concerns and referred to all the necessary testing. The staff at her office is very pleasant to deal with as well.
I've been coming to Dr. Hyman for the past 3 years, since she started at this Hoboken location. She is very nice and knowledgeable. I enjoy the facility, the nurses and front desk girls are very helpful and kind. My only complaint is that the wait times are notoriously long. For all 3 years, I know that if I make an appointment at a certain time, I expect at least a 45-60 minute delay. As a result of the scheduling issues, Dr. Hyman has to rush in terms of the actual appointment. Bedside manner is still good, but I definitely felt rushed and that I didn't have time to really sit and ask her all my questions.
A wonderful, warm, caring physician. She really took her time getting to know me and provided exceptional care. Highly recommended.
This was my first time visiting this practice and therefor Dr. Human. I've seen one other Gynecologist my whole adult life and have been searching for a new one who is closer to where I currently reside. The front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant to speak with. The nurse was wonderful to chat with and genuine. She did not recognize some of the names of my current medications or procedures I had had done, but that is not abnormal since they are not GYN/ONC related. Dr. H had a fantastic overall presence to her and genuinely seemed happy to learn about me and answer any questions I had. She did not come across as in a rush to see her next patient and gave a thourough examination. Although she is not very knowledgeable in my medical background, she openly stated that she would be happy to connect to my other practitioners for continuity of care. Overall, I would/will definitely see her again as my new gynecologist.
She is always on point with followup, past visits, requirements for goos heath according to age and heath levels. Her staff are friendly, discreet, helpful and attentive.
Dr. Hyman is great. She knows her stuff.
Wonderful doctor. Very nice staff and building. Convenient location.
Horribly rude. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
Agreed with the other reviews that note she was a little rushed. I had some specific questions that she definitely answered, albeit in a somewhat exasperated manner. As the exam was ending she literally spoke to me with her hand on the the doorknob and body three quarters of the way twisted toward the door. After I got dressed and was leaving I passed her outside and she was seemingly casually chatting with another doctor in his office, so it didn't appear that she was rushing off to an emergency with another patient, etc. Overall she was nice enough and not outright rude, so I'll probably go back but it was a little off-putting. Also the walls of the exam rooms are PAPER thin and I could hear the appointment going on in the exam room next to mine word for word as I was waiting.
The only good part about my experience with this doctor was that I was seen right away at the time of my appointment. I came to the doctor in hopes to be seen by Dr. Hyman, given an exam, and received birth control. The nurse that checked me in was extremely unprofessional and is one of the reasons I will probably never return and will let my peers know why they should not as well. While being processed by the nurse, when running through my family history, the way she asked me if my parents were still alive was "so, ya, your parents.. are they still alive and kickin'?" and then proceeded to laugh at me when I told her I wasn't on birth control. She said it didn't matter to her what I did because if I had "the big oops" (referring to a pregnancy) then they "could have me for at least 9 months!" I have never been so appalled at the discourse a nurse has chosen to use toward a patient when referring to extremely sensitive information. My experience with the actual doctor was not much better... I was talked down to for my health history and was told that I was not worth being tested for STIs. Not only did I feel offended by the lack of professionalism by both the nurse and Dr. Hyman but I felt completely written off as a patient, I left this appointment feeling as if this doctor and her practice did not have my best health/personal interest in heart.
Really enjoyed my visit with the whole staff at Dr. Hyman's office. From the receptionist to the medical assistant to the doctor herself. Everyone was kind, professional, and personable. While there was a small wait it couldn't have been more than 10 minutes and Dr. Hyman was very apologetic when she came into my room. She also was very thorough and took her time with me which I appreciated since it was my first visit with her. In total, I was in and out of the office in under an hour.
Dr. Hyman was great. She saw me quickly and was kind and professional. Will see her again!
Wait time was a bit long but she was super nice and informative. Really took the time to sit and discuss my health with me. The office is also clean and nice.
Great doctor! Awesome staff!
Very professional and thorough.
I highly recommend Doctor Francine Hyman! She was absolutely fabulous. Excellent bedside manner and answered all my questions clearly and patiently. She even did a same day unscheduled IUD insertion. I will definitely return and continue seeing her.
She was good but short. After the appointment she didn't ask if I needed anything and left
She couldn't have apologized more over the fact that I had to wait. I didn't mind, because I knew it was out of her control as she was at the hospital, but it was lovely that she cared. Her bedside manner was wonderful and I've never felt more comfortable.
its my first visit to OB-GYN. felt comfortable and definitely go back.
This was my second annual exam with Dr. Hyman and it went just as smoothly as the first one. She is very kind and professional and made me feel extremely comfortable. My first appointment was after work (around 5:30 PM) and my second was on my lunch break (around 2PM) and I did not have to wait very long to see the doctor at either appointment. Would highly recommend her.
The staff was very friendly. They took me back promptly at my appointment time and I waited in the room about a half hour to see the dr. I did feel she seemed rushed about it and I didn't feel like she had time for me to ask more questions especially for me being a new patient. I will probably return. The office was nice and clean.
Standard annual check-up. I would probably use a different healthcare provider in the future.
Absolutely loved this office everyone was gentle and professional , I'm glad that I chose her for my prenatal care
Great experience. Will definitely keep her as my primary doctor
Very quick trip! Dr. Hyman was great, would definitely recommend!!
Another 30+ minute wait for her... Not sure if I will come back. It's rude to let your patients wait for that long...
Excellent. I made this appointment as a last minute new patient and was seen immediately. Loved the whole staff and Dr. Didn't feel rushed and was comfortable from the check-in. Highly recommend.
My appointment was at 2:00 pm, was told the doctor was at lunch. Sitting in the reception area saw her walk into the office at 2:29 pm on her way back from lunch. Recognized her since her picture is on this site. It was about 2:45 pm when she saw me in the exam room. She said the morning appointments went over, which is why she was late coming back from lunch. Something that could have been mentioned to me during my phone call 30 mins before the appointment or at my arrival at the clinic. She did her best to get me out asap, when she realized that this was my lunch hour. Walked out of the office at 2:57 pm. Good bedside manner but the fact that 30 mins of my appointment was spent waiting for the doctor colored my experience.
I had a great experience with Dr. Hyman. The wait time was minimal and everyone was very nice. She was very knowledgeable when I asked her questions about various medications and side effects. I will definitely go back.
The office looks absolutely stunning - very clean and professional looking. The front office is so pleasant and helpful. I came 10 minutes early and was taken back right at my appointment time. The nurse was very friendly. I've been to a few gynecologist over the years and Dr. Hyman is by far my favorite. She has such a welcoming, calming and friendly attitude. She explained everything I needed to know and advised me on different birth controls and together we were able to decide what will work best for me. She truly listened to what I said and answered all of my concerns/questions. I felt a little uncomfortable at first waiting to see her but once we started talking I was able to relax. I was so happy with my visit. I would definitely recommend seeing her!
Dr. Hyman is great. She makes an uncomfortable experience comfortable. I felt at ease with her and her associates.
She was very kind, patient with my lack of knowledge and extremely informative. I would recommend her and her staff for sure.
My entire visit from start to finish was beyond impressive. The office and waiting area are very nice and clean. The reception staff was very helpful, quick and friendly with the check-in process. Once, my paperwork was filled out, I was immediately called back by the nurse Kim who was so nice and immediately made me feel comfortable. She took her time asking the right questions in order to set up Dr. Hyman and I for an efficient but meaningful visit. Then, I had my appointment with Dr. Hyman. She answered all of my questions, even the uncomfortable ones, with an incredible amount of knowledge. She took her time and had an amazing bed side manner. I have been on the search for the right OBGYN for what seems like forever. Highly recommend her and don't plan on seeing anyone else. A big thank you to the staff for making me feel like a real patient that everyone truly cared about, not just a number which is how healthcare seems these days.
I was coming from an unfortunate experience with my previous doctor of 4+ years, and meeting Dr. Hyman and the staff in her office was such a welcome change! They are kind, warm, informative, and the whole process was efficient.
Dr Hyman was super friendly and very clear with everything she had explained to me. The exam was quick, which is great, and the rest of the appointment we spoke in depth about some options I had for other things. I never felt rushed, I felt as if I could ask all the questions in the world and she would have taken her time answering each and every one of them. The nurse and the woman who took my blood were both very nice! Highly recommend.
Dr. Francine was extremely thorough in her consultation. She went through my medical history in detail. I was already on some medication that I had carried with me from India. She researched all the components and was able to advise me regarding continuing the medication.
Dr. Hyman makes an awkward doctor visit enjoyable. Quick, efficient, and she seems to love her job. The staff are great, accommodating, understanding, and even via phone they have a smile. The facilities are clean, bright and spacious. Walls are a lil thin, I can sometimes hear patients in the other rooms, but it's not a bad thing, I learn things. :)
She was amazing and answered all of our questions
Awesome doctor! She was very knowledgeable and explained everything very well. Staff was a bit confused when they found out I made my appointment via Zocdoc. Told me to take a seat and made me wait in the waiting room and called everyone else but me. I had to go up to the desk to remind them that I was there, which is when they checked me in. They also didn't have any of the paperwork that I filled out online. Lesson learned: don't fill out paperwork before you get there its a waste of time, just do it in office.
I didn't felt comfortable and the doctor was cold.
She was helpful but I didn't feel she believed my symptoms.
The visit with Dr. Hyman was quick and formal, she calmly listened to me and gave me great info on my health inquiries.
