“Rose has been the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot). She takes a bottom up approach and begins by assessing physical health instead of just throwing medication at the problem. She is kind, warm, and gentle which is incredibly important for patients with depression. I only left her because I moved, I would 100% recommend this woman. She is genuine, I intelligent, and truly cares for her patients.”

Getting to know G. Rose Chidaushe

Hello, I'm Rose! I'm currently accepting new patients! I am board-certified and licensed in Virginia and Washington DC. Having worked in a psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization program (PHP), and outpatient office, I have extensive experience working with adults, children, and adolescents to manage depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, autism spectrum, and OCD. Prior to graduating with a Master's in Nursing from DePaul University as a nurse practitioner, I had 12 years of nursing experience working in neurology, psychiatry, hospice, and pain management. I facilitate integrated holistic wellness by incorporating psychotropic medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle modification, supplements, and genetic testing. Treatment may include medication (including prescriptions and supplements), diagnostic tests and lab work, coaching, mindfulness recommendations, nutrition suggestions, brief therapy, ?homework,? and referral to specialists.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect me to listen with compassion and to provide trauma-informed, gender affirming care. Appointments are delivered via HIPAA secure telehealth and include a comprehensive history, assessment, and discussion about diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. New patient appointments typically last 60 minutes with 30 minutes follow ups, including placing orders and scheduling next visit. Please note: I do not prescribe stimulants without a full work up for ADHD. Benzodiazepines are only prescribed for medical necessity. If you are dependent on benzodiazepines, then my goal will be to taper the dose and transition you to a safer medication to manage anxiety.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Rose is terrific! She is so down to earth. She’s nice to work with. She’s kind and patient. She never makes me feel rushed. I would absolutely recommend her!
I have been going to her for nearly 3 years now and have followed her from one therapy group to another. She has helped me through multiple crises during my time with her and has been a solid foundation in my continued, and improving, mental healthcare. I appreciate her directness and her strong hold on her healthcare beliefs. She is still open-minded, but follows her own guidelines while still communicating and compromising for the benefit of my health.
