Getting to know Garri Cooper

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a Master of Science in Nursing and extensive experience in diagnosing, treating, and evaluating a wide range of mental health conditions. I am committed to providing ethical, evidence-based, and compassionate care that empowers patients on their path to wellness. My practice is rooted in a holistic, patient-centered philosophy that respects each individual’s unique needs, experiences, and cultural background. I continuously adapt and refine my approach to align with the most current psychiatric nursing standards, ensuring that my patients receive the highest quality of care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that working with me is a collaborative process built on trust, respect, and open communication. I value creating a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences without judgment. My role is to listen carefully, understand your unique needs, and partner with you in developing a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals. I believe in a holistic, patient-centered approach, which means I consider not just your symptoms, but also your lifestyle, environment, and personal values. Together, we’ll explore treatment options—whether that includes psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle adjustments, or a combination—while making sure you feel informed and involved every step of the way. Most importantly, I want you to know that you don’t have to go through this alone. My goal is to support and empower you throughout your journey toward healing and lasting well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process for working with clients begins with an initial consultation, where I take the time to learn about your mental health history, current concerns, and overall goals. This first session allows us to build a foundation of trust and understanding, and helps me create a clear picture of how I can best support you. From there, we work together to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This plan may include psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle recommendations, or a combination of these approaches. I make sure to explain each option thoroughly so that you feel informed and comfortable with every step of your care. Ongoing communication is an important part of my process. As we move forward, I continuously monitor your progress, adjust treatment as needed, and encourage open dialogue about what is and isn’t working for you. My goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel empowered and actively involved in your own journey toward healing and wellness.
