Getting to know Dr. Gavi Hollander
Dr. Gavi Hollander is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, individual and group psychotherapy, and medication management for adults of all ages. Her expertise includes the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, ADHD, as well as physical complaints such as insomnia, fatigue, and weight-management issues.
In addition to offering conventional treatment options, Dr. Hollander also works with clients to enhance stress management techniques, address maladaptive coping styles, and make behavioral changes. She maintains a strong interest in mind-body and nutritional medicine, which is reflected in her emphasis on diet, exercise and self-care as integral components of wellness.
Dr. Hollander completed her psychiatry residency training at New York University School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital Center in 2007 where she holds a clinical position in Bellevue's outpatient mental health clinic and an academic role in mentoring and supervising medical students and psychiatry residents.

The description of services on the doctor's website was very misleading. The doctor's practice is conventional rather than holistic. Her disclosure about the potential side effects of anti-depressants was incomplete.

She was friendly and accomodating, and met with me right away. The issue that I had was that since she is out-of-network, I won't be able to use my insurance until I reach my deductible, which probably won't happen. For an initial consultation, I thought it was rather expensive.
