Dr. McGerald is a dedicated wound care physician committed to improving the lives of her patients through comprehensive wound management and healing strategies. Utilizing the latest advancements in wound care technology and evidence-based practices, Dr. McGerald treats patients in both the office setting as well as in various rehabilitation and wound care centers on Long Island. She attended medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2005. She then completed a residency program for emergency medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, NY in 2009. While working full-time as an emergency medicine physician, Dr. McGerald completed her wound care and hyperbaric medicine certification in 2018. During this intensive training, she gained invaluable expertise in advanced wound assessment techniques, wound debridement, infection management, and the application of innovative wound care modalities such as negative pressure wound therapy, bioengineered skin substitutes, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
