About Dr. George Varghese
Dr. George Varghese is a board-certified dermatologist with over 10 years of experience practicing general (adult and pediatric), surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He previously worked for Weill Cornell Medicine specializing in complex medical dermatology, particularly in patients with neurocutaneous issues, including chronic itching.
Dr. Varghese received his Bachelor's in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester. He finished medical school at State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his internship in Internal Medicine at NYU/Winthrop University Hospital. He completed his residency in Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Varghese is an active educator, lecturing and precepting residents and medical students throughout the year. He lectures to health care providers around the community and is active collaborator with the AIDS Education Training Center. He was the principal investigator in a NIH funded clinical trial on real time detection of ultraviolet light using a sensor and its effects on the skin. Dr. Varghese remains on the voluntary faculty as a Clinical Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Varghese’s philosophy is to deliver high yield, accurate health care in a way that is easy to understand for his patients. He hopes to emulate that high level of compassionate care to his patients in Long Island.

Dr. Varghese was very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain different aspects of the exam in a warm and caring way, as well as advising me to use a 50+ sun screen rather than the 30 I’ve been using. I will heed his advice.
The office was immaculate and the receptionists and his assistant were very helpful and friendly.

Great bedside manner and very knowledgeable about things like hyperpigmentation, Hirsutism, and gave good suggestions on how to manage/ address these symptoms. As a black woman, it’s often hard to find a dermatologist that understands melaninated skin- Dr. V was great!!
