“He was very attentive and knowledgeable. It was very easy to talk to him, a very good listener and was also teaching me about what my medication was supposed to do and the side effects. Very patient and polite. He understood everything I told him and gave me options on how to cope and how to recognize my emotions. 10/10”

Getting to know Gerald Power

If you have ever felt down, anxious, alone, or questioned if anyone would ever understand... You are NOT alone! Almost two decades of service with EMS, inpatient psychiatric nursing, and specialized psychiatric provider experience with inpatient and outpatient clients has prepared me to bring compassionate and empathetic care to all. I hold a Master's in Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University. I tackle problems head on and am always upfront and honest with my clients. I see clients ages 14 and older. ******I am currently not prescribing narcotic medication******* You will be heard. I do not give advice, but I do help you explore your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions. When appropriate, I prescribe the lowest effective doses of medication and will provide your medication management. I understand that not all medications need to be continued for life. I assess the whole individual. Together we will create a plan to tackle your concerns. I listen with empathy. I will give you the insight and tools you need to be successful. With my care, you can expect nonjudgmental, direct, and honest communication. You come first. Medication management, shorter therapy sessions, and counseling on important things like sleep, relationships, and diet provide wellness to the whole individual. Care requires a trusting relationship on both sides.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session will be an initial assessment with history gathering, where we will assess your situation and develop a treatment plan together that may comprise of medications, counseling, or both. I only prescribe non-addictive and safe medications. After you book your first appointment, you will receive an invitational email from Headway to create a profile where you will sign consents and enter insurance/billing information. I do see self pay clients. At the time of our appointment, I will send a HIPAA compliant video link to your email. Use that link to join our session. We will schedule our next follow up appointment at the end of every session.
