Getting to know Gervon Thompson

So many people struggle with mental health issues but are afraid to seek help. Here’s the truth: there is no shame in finding the care you need. In fact, it’s one of the bravest things you can do. As a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Master's in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, I believe in a customized plan that integrates multiple modalities to treat the whole person. This approach guides people to deep healing and empowerment over their future. I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management that is specifically tailored to the individual client's needs, especially in treating conditions such as substance use disorder, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety, and more. Better mental health is a journey; we are here to guide you through the process. You can get help with medication management treatment from the comfort of your home through our secure telehealth system. Book an appointment with me today, and let's start you on your journey to be the hero of your story and to ReKlame your health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who specializes in medication management. I offer my patients telehealth visits via the HIPAA complaint website, Spruce.  What is Psychiatric Medication Management? Psychiatric medication management is when a psychiatrist ensures your mental health meds are safe and effective. They assess your needs, prescribe medication, check how you're doing, and adjust as needed. How is it different from therapy? Therapy is talking through thoughts and feelings with a mental health pro to learn coping strategies.  Looking forward to being part of your journey to mental wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After you book your appointment through Zocdoc, one of our Care Navigators will reach out via SMS message to confirm with you about the next needed steps, which include downloading our communication platform 'Spruce', filling out our intake package (questions for us to get to know more about you so we can prepare for your session), and gathering logistical information such as insurance. During our first session, my goal is to get a good understanding of what brings you to treatment. I will have questions along the way to help me learn about you, your values, preferences, and what your current struggles are. Together, we will weigh the risks and benefits of various medication management treatments and develop a personalized plan that best suits your individual needs. I, alongside our care team, will be there for you every step of the way. Book your appointment today, and let's get your journey started.
