Welcome! I'm Dr. Gibson Anugwom, a psychiatrist dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based care for adults. I believe the best treatment begins with listening carefully, understanding your unique experiences, and partnering with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
I treat a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, insomnia, and psychotic disorders. My approach combines thoughtful medication management with supportive psychotherapy and lifestyle interventions when appropriate.
I completed my psychiatry training at Baylor College of Medicine, where I also received advanced training in interventional psychiatry. My clinical interests include treatment-resistant depression and other complex psychiatric conditions, and I strive to provide care that reflects the latest research while remaining practical and patient-centered.
Whether you're seeking help for the first time or looking for a fresh perspective on ongoing symptoms, my goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. I look forward to working with you on your journey toward better mental health.

What should a new client know about working with you?
I believe the best psychiatric care begins with listening. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns without judgment. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, insomnia, or another mental health condition, we'll work together to understand what's contributing to your symptoms and develop a treatment plan that fits your goals.
I emphasize thoughtful, evidence-based care and believe patients should understand the reasoning behind every recommendation. I take time to answer questions, discuss treatment options, and make decisions collaboratively. My aim is not only to help you feel better but also to help you build lasting wellness and improve your quality of life.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We'll review your current symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, lifestyle, sleep, stressors, and personal goals to arrive at the most accurate diagnosis possible. If medication is appropriate, we'll discuss the expected benefits, possible side effects, and alternatives before making any decisions together.
Follow-up visits focus on monitoring your progress, adjusting treatment when needed, and addressing any new concerns. I incorporate supportive psychotherapy, education, and practical coping strategies into medication management visits whenever appropriate. If specialized treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or other advanced interventions may be beneficial, I'll discuss whether they are appropriate for your individual situation.

We are in network with several major insurance plans. Your out-of-pocket costs, such as copays, deductibles, or coinsurance, are determined by your individual insurance benefits. Our office will verify your coverage and provide an estimate whenever possible, but your insurance company determines the final patient responsibility.
For patients who are out of network or choose to self-pay, transparent self-pay rates are available. Upon request, we can also provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I don’t usually leave reviews but I just had to this time. Dr. Gibson is the BEST psych doc around. He has phenomenal bedside manners. Receiving a diagnosis after being dismissed by so many others has been life changing. He is compassionate and combines his knowledge with a calm, attentive presence, making complex issues like mine feel manageable. I felt fully heard and respected which is a first!
He also isn’t just there to prescribe medication and move you on. He helped me navigate my vast mental issues and prescribed the medication that actually helped me. A rare gem of a doctor for anyone seeking skilled, human centered mental health care that actually CARES!!

I was referred to Goldstone Psychiatry by a friend. I deeply appreciate thoughtful, compassionate, and well-coordinated care and this team exceeded my expectations. From the beginning, the scheduling process was prompt and seamless. Tahira was professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful, even following up afterward to make sure I had successfully picked up my medication from the pharmacy. That level of care and attention is rare. Dr. Anugwom was exceptionally thorough, knowledgeable, and curious. He paid attention to the smallest details, asked meaningful questions, and created an environment where I felt genuinely heard, understood, and cared for.
