Dr. Gileno Fonseca Filho is a highly trained Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgeon. Originally from Orlando, Dr. Fonseca received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fl. He then stayed on to complete his medical training at the University of Florida College of Medicine, where he graduated with high academic distinction and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Afterwards, he completed his residency training in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Fonseca is now committed to providing excellent patient-centered care in New Jersey.
Dr. Fonseca is privileged to specialize both in the medical and surgical treatment of ear, nose and throat problems. While maintaining a broad scope of practice, he has special interests in pediatric otolaryngology, nasal obstruction, sinus disease, allergy, ear disease, head and neck disorders, hoarseness, and swallowing problems. Very kind and friendly staff.
Dr. Fonseca was not arrogant. He was very patient with me. He was gentle with the scope and listened to me. I was worried about seeing a non-black doctor because I thought my concerns about pain would be dismissed (from past experiences) due to not being able to relate- but he was very attentive and not dismissive at all.
Thank you Dr. Fonseca. You don't know how much your kindness means to me- especially because I was expecting a touch and go approach.
Thank you to the front desk ladies too. You made my morning more manageable with your warm approach to the checkin/checkout process.

Pleasant office and staff, only negative was the wait time was an hour with an appointment. Aside from that, Dr. Fonseca was awesome. Made me feel comfortable and understood. Very professional and thoroughly explained my procedure to me and the options I had. Looking forward to my next visit!

Very friendly and patient. I have trouble explaining things and nervous, DR. F made me feel like I could take my time in explaining the problem. The office was beyond expectations, the staff was super super friendly and I barely waited five minutes. The exam was of my nose and I was clearly explained the problem with pictures to see what’s wrong. I have a deviated septum and he explained the different options for me, never knew there was medication to help, I am now well informed after my visit. I also loved how organized, clean and careful he was with the instruments, definetly something I look for. I’m not going anywhere else but here! If you’re like me you spend months researching so many doctors.. don’t look past Dr.F, he is the best! If you want a kind, caring, patient, and welcoming doctor he’s your doctor!

Doc and staff were nice, and office was clean. However, doc lacked modern technology found in other offices. Ultimately, the doc did not resolve the issue I came for; I felt he did not take it seriously and therefore did not arrive at a solution for it. For that reason, I would not book another appointment with this office.

Had an deep ear cleaning I noticed my ear bleeding after I left the office. I would have appreciated if the dr noticed before I did.

Professional physician who listened, answered questions, described what he was going to do before he performed test, and after diagnosing my problem, educated me with a chart drawing on the anatomy of the nose that was causing my problems. He considered my age and recommended a medical treatment rather than surgery that would be risky for me. He offered very clear explanations. This was a very pleasant office visit with a very competent Specialist.
