What should a new client know about working with you?

A new client can expect a collaborative and personalized approach to care. I take time to understand your concerns, symptoms, goals, and individual circumstances so that we can develop a treatment plan that is appropriate for you. During our visits, I encourage open and honest communication and welcome questions about your treatment. Depending on your needs, care may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and brief psychotherapy approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, heard, and respected throughout the process. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is an important part of effective mental health care, and I will work with you at a pace that supports your goals and well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to treatment. I will ask questions about your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, daily life, and treatment goals. This helps me develop a comprehensive understanding of your concerns and determine an appropriate diagnosis and treatment approach. Together, we will discuss your treatment options and create an individualized plan based on your needs and goals. When appropriate, treatment may include medication management and brief psychotherapy using approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy. Follow-up sessions provide an opportunity to review your progress, discuss any changes in symptoms or concerns, assess how you are responding to treatment, and make adjustments when needed. I encourage questions and open communication throughout the process so that you remain an active participant in your care.
