Dr. Grace Doh, DNP, is an ANCC Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 17 years of extensive experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. She has worked in diverse settings, including home care, psychiatric inpatient, outpatient, urgent care, and correctional facilities. Dr. Doh possesses strong clinical skills, enhanced by her natural ability to build rapport with clients and families, listen effectively, and ask purposeful questions to ensure accurate diagnoses. Her education and experience enable her to manage a wide range of mental illnesses, including anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia, PTSD, and other psychiatric conditions.
Her educational background includes an Associate's degree from Prince George's Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, a Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialization from Walden University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Wilmington University. Dr. Doh is passionate about providing compassionate, individualized, holistic, and culturally sensitive care while applying evidence-based treatment modalities. Her background in medical-surgical nursing allows her to identify and rule out other medical conditions that may impact mental health. She collaborates with interprofessional and interdisciplinary teams to deliver the best evidence-based care to her clients. Let me just say this: I think that Grace would be good for some people, but she is not the right fit for me. Good points: She is careful & takes as much time as needed to complete your assessment--even when it interferes with other appts she has scheduled, asks questions when needed & has a kind personality, understood my concerns regarding previous treatment attempts. If you are looking for someone who works solely w/ uncomplicated, relatively straightforward cases, she would be a great fit.
Bad Points: I don't think she would be a good fit for complex cases w/ co-occuring issues that overlap into mental health. She seems to prefer to stay away from, or pass the responsibility off on, other providers of care despite those things falling well within her purview & comes across as someone who prefers to guard their license in those cases, be careful/ "play it safe", rather than look at what would be best for the patient, even if those decisions might be difficult or uncomfortable ones.

The double booked and had to reschedule me. She was not aware that I had set up an appointment. When they texted me asking if I needed to reschedule the appointment again I said that I needed to reschedule again about two days before, but it did not automatic tell them and it sent me alert asking about my appointment and I can’t make the appointment. I have asked for it to be canceled and have not heard back. ?

She was patient with me, and listened to me without judgement and I felt safe and comfortable. I really enjoyed her knowledge and ability to stay in the same mental frame space as I was without making me feel misunderstood. I felt more connected to my thoughts and my ability to express myself came easier and easier and it was noticed by her that I went from panic to relief which helped her gauge me better. This was my first evaluation.

This was my first time reaching out to a psychiatrist and what could have been a nerve-wracking and unpleasant experience was made so easy by Dr. Doh’s warm, reassuring presence and clear, thorough communication. She listened to what I was struggling with and got a plan together for what medications might best help me. Most impressive, she actually listened to my negative experiences with medications in the past and adjusted her prescription to something that might work better. In the past I’ve always just been bullied into taking medication I’m not necessarily comfortable with. I highly recommend Dr. Doh and I look forward to working with her again.
