Getting to know Gregory Claxton

Hello there! My name is Gregory. Are you struggling with anxiety, moodiness, restlessness, feeling down, or difficulty focusing? I'd love to work with you to see if we can find solutions together. I hold a Doctorate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Georgia Southern University. My main goal is to help you decide on a mental health treatment that will be safe and most effective for you. My role is not simply to prescribe medication but to be your collaborator and a resource for information about medication options, prescribing them as appropriate. One of the biggest concerns clients often share is that their mental health provider won't truly listen. I want to hear your thoughts, your feelings, and your story. I am here as a resource for you. Let's work together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect that I have actively listened to their concerns, worries, and goals. Clients can expect that I will collaborate with them and empower them throughout the sessions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

He is wonderful. I was nervous to see a new psychiatric provider and it's often hard to find good providers for mental health issues, but he has been amazing. I've felt so comfortable and understood since my first appointment. Highly recommend.

Greg (Dr. Claxton) is very charming, accepting, and is a great listener. When discussing a new dosage of my medication, he answered all of my questions quickly and accurately. He showed clear concern and interest in my situation, and we explored all the possibilities and concerns before landing on an informed decision. He expressed that he is reachable anytime for any emergency appointments or questions by email or phone.
