I have always loved science and had a strong curiosity to understand how things worked. This initially drew me to a career in engineering, but I felt it lacked the human element I craved. After my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I saw the profound impact her physicians had on her life, which inspired me to pursue a career in medicine. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center. I further specialized with a fellowship in Nephrology at UCLA Medical Center. I feel very fortunate to work in a practice where I can satisfy my intellectual curiosity while helping patients improve their quality of life. I love building long-term relationships with patients. We often meet them during periods of acute illness and guide them along the road to recovery. Witnessing this recovery is truly inspiring and a testament to the resiliency of our patients. I strongly believe in a patient-centered philosophy of care that emphasizes patient education. Empowering patients to be active participants in their care is crucial to practicing preventative medicine.
