Getting to know Guerline Dume-Lotin

My goal is to assist my clients in reaching their goals and living life to their optimal capacity. I believe in health literacy, so I make it a priority to educate my clients and empower them in their care. I invite my clients to be active participants in their treatment. I hold a Master’s degree in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, which informs my approach to providing compassionate and effective care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During every encounter, my clients will experience individualized care. They will experience empathetic listening with undivided attention. Using mindfulness and cognitive behavior approach, my client will experience the change in life style that they are looking for.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session involves getting some background, health history, psychiatric history, usual life routine, daily life style, psychopharmacological history. I use assessment tools, genetic testing available, evidence based research for care, FDA approved treatment modalities, DSM5-TR, and established guidelines. Brief psychotherapy and psychoeducation.
