Getting to know Dr. Guissoo Nabavian
As a psychologist, I understand that looking for the right therapist can be frustrating and daunting. By focusing on past events and their impact on your life, present issues can be better understood. My goal is to help you leave my office with a clearer understanding of yourself and be better equipped to deal with life’s challenges. I have received training in various treatment approaches, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapies, Trauma Focused Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and play therapy. In addition, I am a certified Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapist, including Ketamine Therapy. In my approach, I keep the client’s individual needs in mind and work in a safe and collaborative manner.

Dr. Nabavian’s positive impact on my life cannot be overstated. I been to many therapists throughout my life, but her approach, insight, compassion, and honesty has led me to a place in my healing journey I never thought was possible. She takes her patients seriously, works with you to find solutions, gives honest feedback, and makes progress feel attainable. She thinks outside of the box and her dedication is unmatched by any other therapist I’ve been to.

Dr Nabavian has been treating my pre-teen son for the last year and I highly recommend her. My son has OCD and had moments of suicidal ideation. Throughout the process, Dr Nabavian has been attentive and responded quickly. Many times she went out of her way to make herself available when we needed assistance in some very testing situations. She worked closely and intensively with him to help him manage anxiety, frequently going way beyond the 1h therapy sessions. We felt we really could count on her, a rare experience in the US medical system. She's charismatic and gained his and everyone else's trust. She's tremendously smart and funny, making therapy sessions fun. We highly recommend her.
