I’m Hallick Lehmann, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and the founder of True Self Mental Health. I’m currently accepting new patients with immediate availability for virtual appointments.
With a Master’s in Mental Health Nursing from Boston College and years of experience supporting children, teens, and adults, I offer compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect.
At True Self Mental Health, we specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized communities—especially those who have felt unseen or misunderstood in traditional mental health settings. My approach centers on you—your story, your pace, and your needs. I create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are and begin to heal in your own way.
I believe that healing begins with feeling truly seen and heard. In our work together, you’ll have room to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of shame or dismissal. Every session is a space for honesty, curiosity, and compassion.
We’ll work collaboratively and holistically, focusing not just on symptoms but on the deeper roots of what’s happening beneath the surface. Whether we’re exploring identity, processing trauma, or navigating daily stress, our work will move at your pace and honor your voice.
Above all, my goal is to offer affirming, personalized psychiatric care that respects and celebrates your unique story. If you’ve ever felt overlooked or misunderstood in mental health care, know that this space is intentionally different—a space built around you.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our work together starts with a comprehensive 60-minute initial assessment, designed to help me understand you—not just your symptoms, but your story. During this session, we’ll talk about what’s been bringing you here, how it’s affecting your day-to-day life, and what you hope to gain from support.
I’ll also gather background information, including your mental health and medical history, current medications, lifestyle, and the context of your relationships and environment. This helps us create a complete, compassionate picture of your unique experiences and needs.
From there, we’ll collaborate on a personalized treatment plan tailored to your goals. This might include medication management, therapeutic approaches, lifestyle changes, or a thoughtful combination of these options.
Throughout the process, you’ll always be informed, empowered, and supported. Every decision is made together, with transparency and care—so you can feel confident that your treatment truly fits you.

I accept a variety of insurance plans and also offer self-pay options for those who are uninsured or prefer to pay out of pocket. Before your first appointment, I’ll verify your insurance coverage and provide a clear explanation of any copayments, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs—so there are no surprises.
For self-pay clients, a transparent fee schedule is available upon request. Payment is due at the time of service and can be easily made by credit or debit card.
Please note that missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a fee, as appointment times are reserved specifically for you.
