Getting to know Dr. Harry Adamakos

I am an experienced clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families. I earned my doctorate in Psychology from Bowling Green State University. I actively consult with various agencies and organizations, providing clinical supervision and direct service. I take a deep interest and use a variety of approaches to help my clients. Ultimately, all support and guidance is based on relationship development and creating an emotionally safe working experience grounded in trust and empathic understanding. Developing effective coping strategies, problem-solving, and resiliency stems from this philosophy and approach. Adamakos Psychological Associates does NOT participate in any insurance networks but I will provide coded billing allowing for any out-of-network reimbursement you are entitled to by your insurer.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is relationship-based, but I integrate a variety of psychological techniques to develop insight, effective coping strategies. Problem-solving and improving resiliency is prioritized.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Whether in-person or online sessions usually last about 55 minutes. My approach is strictly talk therapy using humanistic, psychoanalytic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches to facilitate change.
