“Firstly the Front Desk staff and nurses are absolutely fantastic! They were so kind super welcoming. They have a really comfortable waiting area. Then when I was seeing Christine Martin PC-A was absolutely amazing and so nice! Amazing listener I mean, I really can’t say anything bad about my experience. And I’ve been seeing a rheumatologist for over 7 years now. and I honestly used to dread going to my previous doctors office, which I won’t mention. Ms. Martin was so knowledgeable in her craft and I think may have been the best informer of my condition explaining it to me where it actually made sense. Understanding what I meant, describing my pain or my symptoms and my history in the records I brought. She was so compassionate and gave me a bit of peace with the information because it was never really well explained to me. She immediately had a game plan for me and what we’re gonn do! Glad I found my new specialist and as I said, the staff in the front desk are just phenomenal people!?????”

“The day of my appointment was snowy and I wasn’t sure if roads would be clear. I called the office and the staff was so friendly and assured me the roads from my house to the office were fine. When I arrived they there so welcoming and helpful.
I waited less than 5 minutes to be taken back to the exam room and shortly after Dr Monshie came in. He was so professional and kind. He addressed all my concerns with compassion and understanding. He is very knowledgeable in his field, and takes great care to ensure the patient is comfortable with the care he’s suggesting and that you understand the next steps. I would highly recommend this practice and most importantly Dr Monshie. ”

About Dr. Hashem Vahabzadeh-Monshie
Dr. Payman Monshie, MD (Hashem Vahabzadeh-Monshie, MD) is the founder of Greater Washington Arthritis, Rheumatology and Osteoporosis Center in Northern Virginia. He is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Monshie is a member of Sentara Northern Virginia Hospital in Woodbridge, VA.
He graduated in the top 1% of his medical class from Islamic Azad University Ardabil Branch Faculty of Medicine, where he received the Dean's Award for Excellence in Medicine. He completed his internship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center and his residency at Interfaith Medical Center in New York. After completing a two-year rheumatology research fellowship at MedStar Research Institute, he subsequently completed his Rheumatology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
During his fellowship, Dr. Monshie pursued training in musculoskeletal ultrasound to utilize this modality for diagnosing joint and soft tissue rheumatism and performing precise ultrasound-guided joint injections.
He is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and has contributed to multiple abstracts and manuscripts published in the American Journal of Rheumatology (Arthritis & Rheumatism), Clinical Rheumatology, and the Journal of the International League of Associations for Rheumatology.
Dr. Monshie has received awards for top abstract and oral presentation at the 6th Annual Congress of Clinical Rheumatology, the National Young Rheumatology Investigator Award, and the top poster award at the 10th Annual Rheumatology Fellows Forum from the Rheumatism Society of the District of Columbia in May 2012.

I went on Zocdoc to find Dr. Moshie. His information said he was taking new patients. I made an appointment as a new patient on Zocdoc. The next day I received a call saying that he was not taking new patients. I then was inundated with texts and emails telling me about my “appointment “. I sent an email telling whomever that I had been contacted to cancel my appointment since he wasn’t taking new patients. Even after that, I’m still getting emails. His office needs to get their act together. Someone needs to check information about him online so that patients’ time is not wasted. They also need to make sure not to keep contacting people with whom they’ve canceled appointments. I didn’t go to the office as my appointment was cancelled by the office.
