Hassan Bokhari is a Florida-based physician who is double board-certified in psychiatry and currently practices in Tampa Bay, Florida. He began his career as a military ER physician with the prestigious Army Medical Corps of Pakistan after earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Army Medical College. Trained in hyperbaric medicine with the Pakistan Navy and the Royal Australian Navy, Dr. Bokhari also served as an advisor on hyperbaric medicine to the Royal Oman Navy. Early in his career, he developed a fascination with mental health, which led him to pursue residency training in psychiatry at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He then completed fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, followed by a fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at Duke University in North Carolina. His clinical interests include addiction and addiction-related disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, developmental and cognitive disorders, as well as trauma-related mental health conditions. An avid traveler, scuba diver, polo player, and father of three, Dr. Bokhari is currently working on developing a comprehensive yet pragmatic diagnostic system for children with cognitive, learning, and developmental delays. He is a strong advocate of integrated medicine with a holistic approach and regularly consults Ayurvedic texts, the Compendium of Materia Medica, Kanpo, and traditional African and Mesoamerican medicine scrolls for guidance. Dr. Bokhari also serves as voluntary faculty at the University of South Florida and is part of the faculty with the BayCare Hospital system of Tampa Bay.
