About Dr. Hassan Dakik

My passion for the practice of gastroenterology stems from the complexity involved in the coordination of intricate organ systems towards a common goal. I strive daily to develop specific personalized treatment plans for each patient and educate them towards a better understanding of their conditions. Dr. Hassan Dakik was born in Austin, Texas and he has spent most of his life here in the Lone Star State. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) where he graduated in 2010 with honors. He also completed additional training and certification in medical ethics from BCM prior to moving to North Carolina where he completed internal medicine residency training at Duke University Hospital. He served as the assistant chief resident at Duke University Hospital in 2012. Dr. Dakik completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Duke in 2016 with a particular interest in the management of inflammatory bowel disease, and then moved back to Texas with his wife and family. Throughout his career, he has authored several papers and presented at national meetings including ACG. Dr. Dakik is an avid sports fan, particularly of college football. When not at the office, he can be found playing with his kids, watching Star Wars or building Legos.
