A love of science and a desire to help others led me to pursue a career in medicine. I see and value each patient as a person, and I strive to understand what's going on with each - beyond the diagnosis - and how issues like family support, socioeconomic status and health literacy impact their condition. One size does not fit all when it comes to treating medical conditions, whether chronic or acute. Trusting your provider is key in getting the care you need and deserve, and I strive to establish that trust from the first encounter. I consider myself the quarterback of each patient's care team - but the patient is a crucial member of that team, too. Being born and raised in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina gave me a love for the ocean and the coastal way of life. So, I'm thrilled to now call the North Carolina coast my home. I am married to a fellow physician assistant, and we have two cats, Rupert and Pippa. I enjoy traveling - Switzerland is a recent favorite - and my spouse and I have a goal of visiting one new National Park every year. My other hobbies include painting, reading, cooking, exercising and working jigsaw puzzles.
