“We had a Fantastic appointment and will be going back. She was extremely patient, kind and perceptive. She helped us get started and was thoughtful to my transgender Son. Using his pronouns and name right away and being generally open and accepting. He had anxiety and a chronic illness so the support of such a good listener was something we have been looking for forever. You won’t regret booking with this office as it seems they have a great team. They don’t accept insurance but if you have out of pocket benefits they will send you paperwork to file with your insurance.”

What should a new client know about working with you?

My practice is centered in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as this is the most evidence-based type of therapy available. At Resolve, although we use the best treatments available for a range of disorders, we try to create a sense of safety with humor and lightheartedness, focusing on teaching you what we know about psychological ideas and treatments that apply to your specific experiences. In short, we try to make therapy as painless and effective as possible! And, we leave judgment at the door. Sign up today for your first appointment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Resolve, the first session is an intake session where we ask for your life story, as well as why you are seeking care now. After that, we meet weekly, and we let you talk about whatever you want to talk about each week. We have two goals throughout those weekly session: 1) allowing you space to discharge negative emotion in a healthy way (i.e. by talking about it) and 2) giving you real, applicable skills, to help you actually feel better. Our approach works, and we cannot wait to meet you. Sign up today for your first session, You won't regret it.

More information on payments and coverage

Regarding insurance, Resolve is considered an out of network provider, as are most therapy providers in DC and nearby Virginia suburbs. This means that we collect payment at the time of service, and then we provide you with an insurance friendly receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for “out of network benefit reimbursement” that has all the appropriate codes the insurance company needs to activate your out of network benefits. Most insurance companies provide 60-80% reimbursement for “behavioral health” (typical procedure code is 90834-95) but you may want to check with your insurance company to be sure.
