About Dr. Heather Krantz

Dr. Krantz is board-certified in both obstetrics/gynecology and integrative medicine. She completed her medical degree, internship and residency training at the University of Kansas. Over the past three decades she has practiced in HMO, private practice, and community health settings. She began to see a large disconnect between traditional medicine and true wellness so she completed the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil. Integrative medicine considers the whole person and uses an intelligent combination of traditional and alternative therapeutic approaches in achieving optimal health and healing for the patient .
Additionally, she has training in mindfulness and self-compassion practices, and medical acupuncture. Over the last decade, she has practiced consultative integrative medicine and taught Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindful Self-Compassion classes as well as mindfulness workshops.
She lives in the mountains in beautiful Bend, Oregon with her husband and their two whippets (her son is away in college). She loves to downhill ski, camp, hike, cook, write, and read. Additionally, she is the author of six books for young children about mindfulness, compassion, sleep, and grief.
