About Dr. Heather Ruddock

After graduating from Columbia University, she earned a medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, and completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
In her 26 years as a pediatrician, she has served as a Clinical Attending in the Emergency Department at St Chris, Medical Director at Greater Philadelphia Health Action's Woodland Avenue Health Center, and for the last ten years, she has been a primary care pediatrician at an Advocare office in Southern New Jersey.
Dr. Ruddock is skilled in general pediatric and adolescent medicine, Urgent Care Emergency Medicine, and has an interest in Sports Medicine. A long-time Fairmount community member, she is an avid fitness buff and can often be found on the running trails of Fairmount park.
She looks forward to connecting with the families of Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics, both in the current city office and the second, East Norriton, office soon to open.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this was too frustrating to ignore. As a Black father, I intentionally chose this provider for my son because they offer in-house speech and physical therapy with a Black doctor — representation matters. I booked through Zocdoc (as instructed), submitted all forms, and got confirmation. Then, the day before the appointment, they called to cancel, saying the doctor was overbooked and “all the young Black kids want to see her.” That’s not a compliment — it’s a sign your systems are failing. They rescheduled us over the phone (which they claimed they don’t do), and when I accidentally mixed up the new time with his PT, they refused to reschedule. No flexibility. No care. This practice markets to our community but doesn’t show up for us. If you want to serve Black families, do better — build better systems, respect our time, and stop hiding dysfunction behind diversity.
