What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means you’ll be met with warmth, curiosity, and zero judgment. I know how hard it can be to open up about mental health, especially if you’ve felt dismissed or misunderstood in the past. That’s why I work to create a space where you feel truly seen, respected, and safe. My approach is collaborative—you’re the expert on your life, and I bring my clinical background to help you explore what’s going on, what might help, and what’s getting in the way of feeling better. I believe in full transparency and shared decision-making, especially when it comes to medications and treatment plans. Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm presence, clear communication, and how I balance professionalism with real human connection. I’m not here to rush you or push a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, I’ll meet you where you are, help you feel grounded, and offer guidance tailored to your needs and goals. If you're navigating complex health challenges, processing past trauma, or just feeling overwhelmed, I’m here to help you find relief, clarity, and strength.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session together is about building trust and understanding. I’ll ask questions to get a sense of what’s bringing you in, your history, current symptoms, medical background, and any past treatments you’ve tried. I work with adults 18+ and am especially experienced in treating people with both mental health and complex medical concerns like sickle cell disease, cancer, and chronic pain. That said, you don’t need to have a medical condition to work with me—many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or life transitions. Initial sessions typically last around 60 minutes. We’ll talk through what’s going on in your world right now and begin mapping out a care plan that feels right for you. If medication seems like a helpful option, we’ll explore it together—I'll walk you through choices, potential benefits, and side effects so you feel informed and in control. I also provide supportive talk therapy as part of my sessions, especially for those who may not be connected with a separate therapist. Ongoing follow-ups are typically 30 minutes and give us space to check in on how you’re doing emotionally and physically, adjust your treatment plan as needed, and explore any new challenges that have come up. My goal is always to provide thoughtful, whole-person care that respects your pace and empowers you to move forward.
