About Dr. Heather Tynan
Among other things, Dr. Heather is a naturopathic doctor, doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, blogger, medicine maker, teacher, student, believer, creator, sister, daughter, and friend. She grew up in scenic northwest New Jersey and feels fortunate to call both the northeast and the southwest “home.” Dr. Heather knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue medicine. She majored in biochemistry and molecular genetics and dual minored in public health as well as environmental studies and sustainability at a small liberal arts school in her home state, and went through all the pre-med steps to attend conventional medical school; however, when the time came to apply, it didn’t feel right. After a couple “gap” years and a synchronous encounter on a ski lift during which she learned from a stranger about Bastyr University and naturopathic medicine, she knew this was exactly what she’d been looking for ~ so she packed up, drove cross country, and completed four years of extreme growth, unparalleled community, and what felt like a “dream-come-true” at Bastyr University California. One medical program wasn't enough for her (no matter how complete & fantastic it was!), so she continued with four more years of studies at Pacific College of Health and Science.

She continues to be grateful every day for finding what she deeply believes to be her passion and calling, and for the honor and privilege it is to have received the training she has and to use it to help people reach their highest states of health and human potential.
