Helen Lancy is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with expertise in adult, gerontology, and psychiatric care. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Missouri and her Master of Science in Nursing (Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner) from Spring Arbor University.
With over six years of experience in mental health and more than four years in primary care, urgent care, and functional medicine, Helen provides comprehensive, patient-centered care that supports the whole person physically, mentally, and emotionally. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and trauma in adults 18 and older, as well as chronic condition management, preventive health, and acute care.
Helen is dedicated to providing evidence-based, compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds, with a strong commitment to serving underserved communities. She believes in empowering patients to take an active role in their health by integrating preventive care, chronic disease management, and mental health support into personalized treatment plans.
Blending integrative and modern medicine, Helen fosters a holistic, collaborative approach, partnering with patients to identify their unique needs and support long-term stability, resilience, and wellness.
What should a new client know about working with you?
We do not prescribe controlled substances out of our office. Commonly requested controlled substance prescriptions from psychiatrists include:
Stimulants: amphetamines, Vyvanse, Adderall, Ritalin
Benzodiazepines: Xanax (alprazolam), Klonopin (clonazepam), Valium (diazepam), Ativan (lorazepam)
Opioids: Suboxone (opioid replacement)
Nerve pain: Gabapentin, Lyrica (state specific for whether we can prescribe)
We can explore other, safer alternatives as part of your treatment regimen. And we are able to help coordinate your care with outside providers as desired, such as primary care physicians. If you have specific prescriptions you are interested in obtaining and are unsure if they are controlled substances, please give us a call.

I have been seeing Helen Lancy for a few years now and she is amazing. Her bedside manner and knowledge is exceptional and she truly goes above and beyond in what she does. She always has her patient’s best interest in mind with EVERY facet of treatment. Over the years, it has been difficult for me to find a provider that truly listens and understands my needs while being compassionate, and seeing Helen has been like a breath of fresh air because she does all of the above. Highly recommend, 5/5 stars.

Helen Yancy is very knowledgeable about creating ways to help get to the root of your concerns. I am not a fan of seeing a physician due to my phobias. Helen put me at ease right away, and I felt comfortable talking to her about my issues. With Helen, I feel heard and understood.

Fantastic experience. She truly listened, valued nuance, and asked what I wanted to focus on rather than relying only on test results. Her collaborative approach made me feel understood and supported. She caught an ADHD diagnosis my previous provider missed and prescribed targeted medication for my anxiety that has been very helpful. I finally feel like I have a psychiatrist who cares and tailors treatment to me.

I came to Helen Lancy feeling hopeless—my symptoms were getting worse, and I suspected my medication might be part of the problem. I’d been working with my PCP and another NP for months but didn’t feel truly heard.
From the moment I sat down with Helen, I knew I made the right choice. She listened closely, validated my concerns, and took the time to explain a clear, thoughtful plan moving forward. For the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful and supported.
If you’re looking for someone who takes you seriously and actually helps you move forward, I highly recommend Helen.

I’ve been dealing with debilitating panic attacks! I needed some relief but also needed to be able to talk in a safe space. This was convenient and easy and i was able to get tarted on some medication and we have a plan to move forward in my treatment. I feel btter just knowing relief is coming.

I cannot recommend Ms. Lancy enough. I truly feel that she always has her patient’s best interest in mind. She is very knowledgable. She takes the time to get to the root of any issues I have had and she is always incredibly kind. She is also easy to reach and communicate with if extra attention is needed towards a certain issue.

Dr. Lancy has been absolutely wonderful. I have seen many doctors over the years, both for mental and physical health. It’s been difficult to find doctors who seem to truly care about their patients, but Dr. Lancy is one of the good ones! She has an amazing bedside manner.
