About Dr. Hertzel Sure
Dr. Sure is now offering an allergy program consisting of asthma allergy testing and immunotherapy treatment.
Dr. Hertzel K. Sure is a board-certified internist whose personal history and professional philosophy make him an excellent doctor to work with.
When he was thirteen, his parents decided to move him alone to the United States to give him a brighter future. Dr. Sure lived in New York with his uncle and began exploring the city, working various jobs to make ends meet. While supporting himself, he finished high school, and in 1992 he received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University in New York.
During his time at Stony Brook, Dr. Sure trained instructors to help physically and mentally handicapped individuals exercise in and enjoy an aquatic environment. In addition, he participated in research projects related to cloning DNA and the effect of restriction enzymes.
In 1998, Dr. Sure received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College. While working in different medical settings and hospitals around the United States, he gained the experience needed to address the most complicated medical cases.
Dr. Sure has affiliations with North Shore University Hospital of Manhasset, Elmhurst Hospital, North Shore Forest Hills, Mount Sinai Hospital, Fairview Nursing Home, and Long Island Care Center. He opened his private practice in Elmhurst in 2003.
Dr. Sure believes that overcoming disease takes more than medicine: the relationship between patient and doctor must provide a solid foundation for healing. His motto, which he applies in his practice, is this: the patient comes first, no matter what.
