Dr. Hiram Cuevas, MD
Dr. Cuevas was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C., obtaining a pre-med degree. He received his doctor of medicine degree as an american graduate from the Universidad Central del Caribe, Cayey School of Medicine Puerto Rico in 1981. Dr. Cuevas was the salutatorian of his graduating class as well as the class vice president. After graduating from medical school, he received formal training in internal medicine at the New York Infirmary - Beekman Downtown Hospital in NYC, where he served his internship and completed his residency in 1984. He then joined the medical staff there as an emergency room attending physician. Dr. Cuevas ultimately moved to Tampa, Florida and started in private practice. His medical interest and expertise is internal medicine with an emphasis on preventive care, as well as creating long-term relationships with his patients. Outside of medicine, his interests and hobbies are listening to music, as well as playing guitar with his classic rock band crystal blue. He also enjoys fishing, cooking, good wine, and watching sports, in particular, baseball, football, and hockey. He is an avid Rays, Bucs and Lightning fan. Dr. Cuevas is fully bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English.
