Aloha! I am Hyesu (HEY-SU), Board Certified in Psychiatry and a Family Health Nurse Practitioner in Hawaii. I was born and raised in Korea, and my journey led me from New York to Hawaii, which I now proudly call home. With over 10 years of dedicated practice, I’ve gained diverse experience, serving the underprivileged population in the Bronx, NY, to Medicare Kapuna in Hawaii. I earned my Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University, which deepened my commitment to mental health care. Over the last decade, there has been a growing awareness of mental health, with more people seeking help. I aspire to be an advocate and reduce the stigma surrounding psychiatry. My goal is to contribute to my community by promoting serene and contented mental health, helping individuals achieve their goals, and fostering meaningful life experiences. I enjoy running, hiking, and snorkeling. I get excited when I find exotic local fish and explore the underwater world. I believe in medicine to alleviate suffering but also strongly believe in lifestyle modifications that can transform the entire narrative.
