Being involved in ice hockey from a young age, Dr. Thomson quickly understood the importance of musculoskeletal health and nutrition in optimizing performance. His passion led him to complete his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Penn State University in 2017, with a focus in Movement Science. He then graduated from Northeast College of Health Sciences and New York Chiropractic College in 2020, earning both his Doctor of Chiropractic and Master’s of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition. He has been with Town PT for 3 years, serving as the chiropractor at the Maywood location. Town PT’s unique integrative healthcare setting has allowed Dr. Thomson to work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, and acupuncturists in a collaborative effort to diagnose and treat specific cases. Dr. Thomson aims to promote pain-free activity whenever possible, rather than encouraging patients to shy away from perceived “dangerous” movements. An emphasis is placed on functional exercise and manual therapies to achieve optimal joint mobility and stability, helping patients get back to doing what they love. Dr. Thomson’s ultimate goal is to enable his patients to navigate their own specific spectrum of movement throughout their lives in a stronger and pain-free manner.

Both Ian and Sam put us at ease immediately. We were seen right away they were very professional and polite. Very efficient. We have made follow-up appointments with them and look forward to working with them. The woman at the reception or front desk was very polite and helped us as soon as we arrived. I came in to see Ian for my back pain, and I never felt better. Not only was his treatment helpful, but he also recommended exercises for me to do at home which has been a great help.

Highly recommend Dr. Ian. He takes the time to explain why he is doing certain treatments and always makes sure the exercises I am doing are correct. His work has made a huge impact and my pain has gotten a lot better.

This office is great. It’s so much more than I expected. Not only did I have a great adjustment he recognized that my muscles were super tight and immediately booked me to see there OT who worked out my muscles and provided me with stretches I could do to continue the work he started. I already booked myself twice for next week. I’m looking forward to taking advantage of all the services they provide here. It’s literally a one stop shop for all your health and pain management needs. I honestly feel so blessed to have stumbled upon them.

I have been experiencing constant lower back pain since College and I finally stepped up and visited a Chiropractor. This visit was truly life changing! If you do plan to visit, don't expect that it's only a one-time visit, it is truly important to visit more frequently as recommended by the doctor.
