What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe the best mental health care starts with listening. During your first visit, we'll take the time to understand your concerns, medical history, lifestyle, and goals so we can develop a treatment plan that fits you. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. Whether you are struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, burnout, bipolar disorder, or another mental health concern, I strive to create a judgment-free environment where you feel heard and respected. When appropriate, treatment may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with your therapist or primary care provider. My goal is not to simply prescribe medication, but to help you make meaningful, lasting progress. To help your appointment run smoothly, please complete all intake paperwork before your visit and log into your telehealth appointment a few minutes early. If you have questions or concerns, I encourage open communication-- we'll work together to find the best path forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding the whole person-not just the symptoms. We'll discuss your current concerns, medical and mental health history, medications, sleep, lifestyle, and any previous treatments you've tried. Together, we'll identify your goals and develop an individualized treatment plan. If medication is appropriate, we'll review the benefits, risks, potential side effects, and alternative treatment options so you can make an informed decision. I also incorporate supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies into medication management visits when appropriate. Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring your progress, evaluating how treatment is working, addressing any concerns or side effects, and making adjustments when needed. My goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care while ensuring you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in every treatment decision. For patients prescribed controlled medications, additional safety measures--including prescription monitoring and other clinically appropriate requirements-may be part of treatment to ensure safe and responsible prescribing.
