Dr. Nwokeabia (woke-ah-bee-ah), or Dr. David as he prefers to be called, has dedicated his medical practice to changing lives and supporting patients at their lowest points. He pursued pain medicine to provide hands-on relief and direct intervention that supports overall wellness. He loves the mental challenge involved in helping people manage their pain and calls himself the ?pain detective.? His philosophy is that ?pain does not go in a straight line,? so every person needs a personalized treatment plan tailored to their unique situation.
Dr. Nwokeabia earned his Doctor of Medicine from Howard University. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Washington University, St. Louis, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, followed by a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at Stanford Hospital. A student of modern pain management practices, he is trained to help patients transition off opioids through opioid mitigation treatment plans. He believes it is his job to treat the patient, not just the pain-finding the root of the problem and offering a range of options to make substantive, lasting impacts on health. This means utilizing various treatments and tools, only using prescriptions when absolutely necessary.
An active athlete who loves the outdoors and travels frequently in his free time, Dr. Nwokeabia is known for being incredibly charismatic, energetic, and friendly. He can always be found with a smile on his face and is excited to serve the greater Sachse, Wylie, and Murphy community.

I brought my current medications along with me. This Doctor knew everything about each of the medications, good and bad. I left there feeling smart about what I put in my body, as well as knowing I wasn't taking anything else that will have negative effect on my kidneys. Great bedside manner, well spoken, smart and thorough. If you are in pain daily, come see this Doctor and let him make a difference in your life. He definitely made a difference in mind. I usually sleep 2-3 hours a night. After seeing Doctor David, I final sleep 6-7 hours the next night. AMAZING!!!!!
