When I told her that I didn’t want to take a certain class of medications she was very understanding of it and was willing to accommodate my requests. She is very knowledgeable and well-informed. She had a similar upbringing to mine which meant that she was better able to understand my circumstances. Although I only had one session with her, I feel like I can trust her. Getting to know Ifeatu Enemmuo
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP) practicing in California. I received my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Brandman University, Irvine, CA (now UMass) in 2019. I have been practicing for four and a half years. Before earning my DNP, I worked as a Psychiatric RN for 22 years in various settings-inpatient, outpatient, and psychiatric emergency rooms. I help people with anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and those struggling to adjust to life's challenges.
Having worked in psychiatric emergency rooms for over two decades, I witnessed firsthand the pain caused by poor access to behavioral health services. This experience was the sole driving force that pushed me back to school for my DNP in Mental Health-to increase access to care for individuals struggling with mental illness. I am highly motivated to walk with you, and together we will improve life and end suffering.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I love working with Teenagers 15 to 18 and adults up to 65 years. People who are adjusting to the challenges life throws at them. People who experience loss- loss of status, loss of love, loss of respect in relationships. People who feel overwhelmed, anxious, trapped in life circumstances even great circumstances such as getting married, starting a new job, having a new baby, striving to be accepted and respected by peers, family, colleagues and peers.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
During our first section, we will start with brief introduction, have detailed interview about life style, social interactions, believes , challenges and unique features that will help us build an individualized treatment plan that will guide our follow ups. It will be more of understanding you the client.
