“Very kind and nice. Understood what I was describing to him about my situation. I was very nervous and shaking when i reached out. What I really liked the most, for me anyway, is I didnt have to go on and on about my situation. He asked questions and I answered. For me talking its hard. So yes for me it was a good experience. ”

I had my initial visit with Dr. Jamil a few weeks ago and was prescribed psychiatric medications. I used my insurance for this appointment. Now, however, I am not able to schedule a visit with Dr. Jamil, or anyone within the Skypiatrist platform. On the website and in the Zocdoc app there is only the option to book an appointment as NEW patient. Online it looks like I might be able to book a session, but only if I don’t use my insurance. I have emailed Dr. Jamil (no response) and called Skypiatrist (couldn’t answer any of my questions). This makes me very upset, particularly for patients that may have significant psychiatric concerns. I don’t understand how you can prescribe a patient new psychiatric medication without following up or giving the patient the opportunity to see you again.

Based on some of the other reviews I was concerned but he was really nice and listened to my concerns and asked a lot of questions. I will follow up with him.

My appointment with Dr. Jamil went well overall. Very friendly and easy to talk to. Our appointment was a little shorter then expected, definitely not the whole 1 hour, but effective nonetheless. I didn’t need to have an entire therapy session with him because I already see a psychologist weekly. If you are looking to discuss options for medication I recommend, we discussed options and how they can help pretty thoroughly and he asked me to follow up in a few days and let him know how I was feeling. If not for zocdoc, this would’ve taken months to book.

Dr. Jamil asked questions in details to understand my issues. He then explained what he thought could be the problem and set me up on a plan to try meds for 2 weeks and to monitor results. This is a vastly different (better) approach from my previous psychiatrist. I would highly recommend Dr. Jamil! The skypiatrist platform wasn't intuitive and needs work.

For my first initial visit i was told the session would last one hour. It was under 15mins and pills were prescribed. No follow up from the doctor or his office. Took 15 mins for meds to get prescribed and I feel nothing was accomplished. Pure waste of money.

The telehealth platform they use Skypiatrist is pretty bad and not easy to navigate at all. Dr. Jamil was nice enough but immediately pushed meds after a few minutes of questions. I booked the appointment hoping to get screened for a neurodivergent condition but instead just got pushed to take stimulants. Seemed like another doctor trying to squeeze in as many patients as possible and doesn't prioritize about patient care. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a provider that will take the time to work with you.

Dr. Jamil was great. He asked the right questions, paid attention to understand what's going on, and provided options for treatment. I definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a psychiatrist.

The Dr. was 15 minutes late, asked some of the same questions repeatedly, and seemed to push medication without a diagnosis after a few minutes of asking questions.
    Verified patientVideo visit
Complete waste of time and I do not recommend! First, the scheduling process was so disorganized and I never even received the meeting instructions - they use some awful service called Skypiatrist where no one seems to know what is going on (although, they seem to be keen when asking for payment and in that case, they call everyday). The doctor eventually called me much later than our scheduled time and the first thing I said was that I was not willing to consider taking medication. By the end of the very short call I had, he tells me all he does is prescribe medication and does not provide talk therapy. Then proceeds to try to give me medication after I said from the beginning it was not even an option. Such a waste of time.
