What should a new client know about working with you?

During our visits, I take time to understand your full story your symptoms, life experiences, stressors, and goals—so we can create a plan that feels realistic and supportive. Treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies, depending on your needs and preferences. I aim to provide a warm, nonjudgmental, and safe space where you can speak openly. I will also be honest and transparent about recommendations, expected timelines, and what progress may look like. You can expect: A thorough and thoughtful evaluation Clear explanations of diagnosis and treatment options Shared decision-making Practical tools to help you outside of sessions Ongoing adjustments to your care as needed My goal is not just symptom relief, but helping you feel more balanced, supported, and in control of your mental health.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session begins with a check-in on how you’ve been feeling since our last visit, including mood, sleep, anxiety levels, and any changes in your life or stressors. If this is your first appointment, we will complete a comprehensive evaluation, where I’ll ask about your current concerns, past mental health history, medical history, medications, and personal background to better understand the full picture. My diagnostic process is thorough and thoughtful, using your history, symptom patterns, and evidence-based criteria to guide an accurate diagnosis. I will always explain my impressions and ensure you understand the reasoning behind any diagnosis or recommendations. Treatment sessions may include: Medication management (if appropriate), including reviewing benefits, side effects, and adjustments Supportive therapy and brief psychotherapy techniques, such as coping skills, mindfulness, and problem-solving strategies Goal setting and progress tracking to make sure treatment is effective While I do incorporate elements of talk therapy, my role is primarily focused on medication management with supportive therapeutic guidance. If you would benefit from more in-depth psychotherapy, I may recommend working alongside a therapist for more specialized care. Sessions are collaborative, and you will always have the opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and be actively involved in your treatment plan.
