Hello, I'm Isaac! My journey started at the age of 15 when my dream of playing collegiate soccer was disrupted by unexpected health challenges. Overtraining and under-eating took a toll, leading to a diagnosis of gastroparesis—a surprise, since type 1 diabetes wasn’t part of my life back then. Overtraining and under-eating took a toll, leading to a diagnosis of gastroparesis—a surprise, since type 1 diabetes wasn’t part of my life back then. Despite these setbacks, I pushed forward to play at the Division III level, but the struggle with my health continued, manifesting as food sensitivities and hormonal imbalances. During grad school, I was finally diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This could have felt defeating, but instead, it became a turning point that fueled my passion for health and wellness. I realized I wanted to help others facing similar challenges. So I immersed myself in functional nutrition and holistic health. I dove deep into the science so I could understand my body from the inside out. This knowledge, combined with my personal experiences, inspired the creation of The Pohlman Institute.
