At Break Free Therapy, PLLC, we don't do passive listening; we provide high efficacy clinical intervention for high functioning individuals and couples who are ready to perform the emotional surgery necessary to dismantle toxic cycles. If you have reached the point where the cost of staying the same is higher than the price of change, you are in the right place. I specialize in working with the "fixers"—the over-functioners who manage everyone else’s crises while their own peace is pushed to the back burner. Whether you are navigating the heavy silence of a "roommate marriage," breaking free from generational guilt, or managing the burnout of parenthood and peripartum transitions, my approach is designed to rewrite the ending of your story. Using specialized, evidence based models like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help clients move beyond basic communication tips to achieve deep, lasting transformation. My practice is built for those who value privacy, clinical insight, and results outside of the traditional insurance model. Services include: Relationship Reconnection: Stopping the attack-defend cycle to reclaim secure connection. Cycle Breaking: Using Narrative Therapy and IFS to set boundaries and escape inherited family patterns. Parenthood & Peripartum Support: Clinical space to reclaim autonomy amidst the pressures of raising a family. I provide dynamic and direct therapy services in person in our Federal Way office as well as via telehealth throughout the state of Washington, serving areas from Tacoma and Gig Harbor to Seattle and beyond. You did not choose the patterns you inherited, but you are the only one who can stop them. Let’s stop "trying harder" and start using a strategy that actually works. Your new chapter starts with a specialized strategy to build a life that is actually yours.

What should a new client know about working with you?

To protect your privacy and ensure your care is not limited or dictated by an insurance company, I do not contract with insurance providers. This allows us to focus on relational growth and deep transformation without the requirement of a mental illness diagnosis or limited session counts. This also offers a higher level of privacy as clinical documentation is subject to insurance audit when utilized. Superbills can be provided upon request for potential out of network reimbursement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

01. The Deep-Dive Intake (90 Minutes) We start with a high-intensity, 90 minute intake session where we perform a clinical audit of your relationship. We identify the specific points of disconnection and the historical blueprints that are currently driving your conflict. 02. The Clinical Strategy Map Between your intake and your first follow-up, I synthesize your history and our assessment data into a comprehensive treatment plan. This isn't just a list of goals; it is a clinical strategy designed to dismantle your specific cycle of stuckness. We enter your next session with a clear roadmap for your reconnection. 03. The Emotional Surgery In the sessions that follow, we move past surface-level "communication tips" and get to the root of the "gunk." Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we actively de-escalate the patterns at play and begin the work of rebuilding a secure, high-functioning partnership. We stop the performance and start the repair. 04. Building Upon The Structure In our final sessions together, we go beyond just "feeling better" and start to hone the skills and new patterns you have developed in therapy. By continuing to enhance the work and fortify the relationship, the change is not only more impactful, its more durable. 05. Touch Ups After we complete our regularly scheduled sessions, you transition into your own care. When something comes up, or you want a touch up, we will meet again (couples tend to like to do a touch up after 6 months, then once a year, this not required) and go over what is new, what is still working and what can be built upon even more.
